GCABC keeps you informed by inviting you back to join us Friday, May 9th for the third part of the GCABC Webinar Series: Assessment and Reporting Student Progress in BC Schools
Webinar 3: How an informed look at your child's responses to learning activities and behaviors demonstrates areas of advanced learning and can assist school conversations about learning needs.
Building on Webinar 1 and 2 in this series, where we looked at the current curriculum in BC schools, and considered how assessment of student learning has evolved over the past decade, we continue to examine how parents can prepare for informed conversations with their child’s teacher(s) in support of their child’s learning needs.
This third webinar introduces and examines the research and work of Dr. Lannie Kanevsky. As part of a life’s work researching, understanding and responding to gifted learners, she has developed “Brilliant Behaviours” a toolkit designed to assist parents and teachers in recognizing bright, gifted and talented students through an informed analysis of demonstrated learning preferences and behaviors.
This webinar will continue to extend parent’s understanding of how their child’s learning behaviors demonstrates their gifts and needs for challenges and accommodations and provide parents with a tool to continue their advocacy and communication with their child’s teachers.
