Districts and schools across the province are guided by the Ministry of Education’s Inclusive Education policy, meaning that students spend most of their instructional time in inclusive classrooms and teachers are expected to plan and facilitate learning activities for students with a wide range of diversities and abilities. In the context of high needs and often limited resources, how can teachers ensure that gifted learners are appropriately challenged and supported? This event brings together a panel of teachers who have been recognized for doing exceptional work in meeting the needs of gifted learners in inclusive classrooms. Panelists will engage in a host-moderated dialogue, about their approaches and strategies for ensuring that inclusion includes gifted learners. Parents will have the opportunity to meet with others who have children in the same district/school. LMGC and GCABC members will also join in these discussions.
