In conjunction with the AGM, Registered Clinical Counsellor Debbie Clelland from Adler University will give a presentation on the topic “Keeping Communication Lines Open with your Gifted/2e Children and Teens.”
In today’s world of screens and multi-tasking, finding time and creating positive conversations with our children and teens can be a challenge. Families with gifted and multi-exceptional children may have added trials of children who can “out-argue” you, passions that pull them away from others in the household, or feel they need to protect others and not say anything about the deep concerns they have for things like the environment. This presentation will address all of these issues and suggest techniques to support successful conversations and regular family connections.
